An acclaimed Argentine Tango Instructor, performer, organizer, and producer, Vladimir Estrin, has been an integral part of the LA’s tango community since 2001. His detailed approach to tango education, in-depth understanding of both leader’s and follower’s roles and techniques, kinesiology and musicality, have earned him great respect among the students and the peers.

Originally from Russia, and growing up in a very musical family, Vladimir has been exposed to the sounds of Tango from the earliest age. His grangmother and father would often play tangos on the piano. After taking his first Argentine Tango lesson, he knew that he had found his passion.

In January of 2004 he became the instructor at the 3rd Street Dance Studio, teaching beginning, intermediate, and advanced technique and styling Tango classes. While teaching mainly in Los Angeles, Vladimir has also been guest instructor and performer in San Diego, Santa Barbara and Las Vegas.

Together with Evita Arce, Vlad participated in the First International Argentine Tango Competition and Showcase hosted by the World Council for Argentine Tango Events in San Diego, California in January of 2004. He returned to participate in the competition in February of 2005 with partner Irene Tumanyan. Together they ranked Gold in Tango, Vals and Milonga. That same night Vladimir was also presented with the “Carlos Gardel Award” for the contribution to the world of Argentine Tango. In January of 2005, Vlad and Irene took the 1st Place in the the Argentine Tango Division of the Annual CalTech Dance Sport Competition .

Since 2005 and up to the present, Vladimir has been serving as the Amabassador of The Carlos Gardel Tango Festival in Los Angeles, California.

In 2002, Vladimir founded www.TangoAfficionado.com – International Online Tango Resource, that has become one of the most visited Tango-related websites in the United States.

In November 2006, he has co-produced a very well-received “El Corazon Del Tango” show at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. The show helped raise awareness of Autism and help find the cure for children affected by it.

He continues to advance tango education, as well as promote local and international instructors and performers in Los Angeles, Southern California and United States.
